Church History Myth

Jesuit Fairy Tale

Jesuit Fairy Tale

This is a homogenized neat little history. It is not reality but it makes for a good graphic.  It is a church history myth that is easily shattered by a cursory study of even Vatican documents alone.

Now let’s sink this ship with one torpedo.

Look at the description of the Church Jesus died for in Ephesians “Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.”

Church History Myth

Can the church claiming the only link to Christ be the one describe in Ephesians if it was responsible for torture, murder, establishing the Inquisition and calling for the Crusades?

Logical Conclusion of the Jesuit Fairy Tale

Those persecuted by the church of Rome have often accused them of being not the lady in Ephesians 5 but the woman of Revelations 17. Those ancient writers made a good point.  They pointed out the church history myth for what it was.

TweetDown: The Moment You Realized God is a Myth?

Written on July 15, 2011 by Ben Tegland in General, Twitter

Last night I asked my twitter followers what their “aha” moment was . . . the moment when they realized the whole god story was a myth. I got a ton of responses! In my case, I definitely had a lot of doubts about god when I was about 13-years-old, but religious programming and family pressure kept me from exploring my thoughts any further.

My “aha” moment came years and years later,  I had just finished reading a lot about Galileo and how the church had acted over his idea that the earth went around the sun. The church was so wrong and yet they were supposed to have all the answers. Being a Pentecostal protestant, I could have blamed it on the fact that it was just the crazy Catholics . . . but I knew that was only a rationalization. All of Christianity relies heavily on the Catholic Church passing down a true story through the years. This really got the gears turning in my head

Ben Tegland did youth ministry for 6 years and was a licensed pastor, now he is a godless atheist, skeptical thinker, liberal minded kinda guy

Our adversary the Devil has only one agenda, to get people to reject the Lord.  If using a Bogus Church History can help, he will use it.  In the mind of Mr. Tegland and many others it has been very effective.  Fairy tales are fun for children, but a church history myth has damaging effects.
